The Big Day :)

We have known each other for over 12 years and throughout this period of time, our relationship started from acquaintances to friends, to sports buddies... Never did it occur to us that our fate would bring us together but it did. Ever since we got together as a couple, we have just realized there are so many similarities that we share and yet there are differences that we compliment each other.

Being able to love each other is one of the best things that have happened to us because our lives become more complete. With this natural feeling of completeness, we would like to make an announcement about our wedding, which will be hosted on the 10th of October, 2009.

Our wedding ceremony will be held at the beautiful Bethanie Chapel in Pok Fu Lam, Hong Kong, and our wedding banquet will be taken place at the Aberdeen Marina Club in Aberdeen on the same day.

We are so so excited about our big day, and couldn't wait until the big day comes!

The Ring

Backtracking to the time before they started dating, on an ordinary night after Janet's yoga class, Edmond was walking her home. He was thinking about asking her out as his girlfriend. Desperately looking for a coffee shop around her home so they could sit down and talk, it was about 10:30 at night and most of the cafes were closed. So the two of them decided to sit at the park just around the corner. Edmond was asking Janet whether she could be his girlfriend. Out of no where, a tricky right hand drew out a ring for Janet to show his dedication in this relationship. (Ed never gave out any rings unless he thinks she is the one~) She was shocked by his intention and soon after, they starting dating.

THEN, on April 14, 2008 (yet another ordinary night), after dinner with Ed's family at his place, he drove her home. As usual, they walked by the little park before hitting her apartment and he was asking whether she would be interested in sitting down and chatting for a little while (on the very same bench that he had given her the 1st ring). Janet, a bit surprised by this sudden request, agreed. With Ed being a talkative person, he was so quiet that it didn't feel normal (according to Janet's testimony). To break the silence, down on his knees, he proposed to Janet, along with the presentation of the 2nd ring. She didn't say yes, but she kept nodding because her mind went blank and that was the only reaction she could offer at the moment.

About Janet

Janet is a hyper active person who can never sit still. I guess it's the laughter and her hyper activeness that attracted Edmond. She couldn't be happier in her life; loving everything that she has in her life - teaching yoga, living a healthy life, cooking during her free time, being in love with Edmond.

Edmond has inspired Janet in many ways - having her to be more conscious about the society that we are living in, being more objective in the thinking and also being more compassionate toward others around her. She is thankful to have Edmond with her so her life is more complete.

Janet + Edmond

The two of them made a positive influence on others. Think of it this way, though we share a lot of common interest, together, one of us is more yin and the other one is more yang. Together, we learn how to bring ourselves into a more balanced place.

Together they enjoy watching movies, hiking, travelling, yoga, out-rigging, and recently they have picked up ballroom dancing! They still have a lot of plans in mind, for example, learning scuba diving, Edmond is interested in learning Tai Chi, Janet is interested in getting to know more about surfing, and the list keeps getting longer...

About Edmond

Edmond is an avid photographer, weather forecaster, adventurer & sports lover. He would go to extremes in all aspects in his life to get a good experience. During one of his madness photography trip, he went up a hill during a crazy thunderstorm and hoped to get a good shot of lightning bolts striking the earth. Instead, he almost got shot for good by a lightning strike. Further to this craziness, he would hike 100km from Saikung to Tuen Mun, run a marathon that crossed over the Tsing Ma Bridge, all in the name of charity. With the extremes that he went through, he has earned many rewarding experiences, not to mention many more bruises and injuries.

However, the most rewarding thing that happened to Ed was having the chance to be with Janet, enjoying her company, and her wisdom. She told him that experiencing events at the extremes might bring a rush of adrenaline, but it won't last a lifetime. That totally woke him up from his near-sightedness about his life as he still has many more years to be with Janet. From that moment, she taught him how to take things easy and enjoy the whole journey instead of just a short lived moment and for that, he is eternally grateful to have Janet as his companion who has the willingness (and endurance) to balance out his lifestyle.
